Dear Friends of Longview Chapel,
It’s been fun to look around the church at all the different things people decorated as they gave thanks for them. Everything from the kitchen, to new members, to pictures, to pews, to our office administrator, and more. Here are pictures of just a few.

Celebrating giving over the last few weeks has helped me, and I hope you too, to be more aware of the many things I have to give thanks for. I was driving to work this morning and was thankful my car has been so dependable. I was thankful for the little bit of color in the trees. I was thankful I was able to let someone else in who came close to missing a turn. I was thankful the driver who started to come over into my lane got back into his. I was thankful for noticing someone had pulled up too far to an intersection so I could stop a bit further back so they could back up their car and not worry. The list goes on from there. I think about how many times I have made that drive and not noticed how much giving and receiving happens in that 25 minutes on the road, a road that, by the way, lots of people paid for and engineers designed and construction workers made.
Being aware of all the gifts we get to give and receive opens our hearts and makes us available to see opportunities to both give and receive. I look forward to Sunday as we celebrate our giving with Commitment Sunday. Children (and adults who want to do so), will have the opportunity at both services to use rhythm instruments and dance or march. Thank you for being a congregation that is growing in spirit, faith and mission. I am grateful to be your pastor.
