Dear Friends of Longview Chapel,

Thank you does not begin to express the gratitude I want to share with each of you. The celebration for my 40th ordination anniversary was perfect in every way! Bill and I laughed Sunday afternoon that everyone and everything just worked together without a hitch. In every other celebration we could think of there was always a little something with tech or people or cake cutters (yep, there is a story with that one) that we still laugh about. As we remember this celebration we will only be laughing about how much joy and laughter, as well as a few tears, were shared.

Romans 12:10 tells us to “love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.”

As I read your cards and talked with so many of you, I was reminded how wonderful it feels to be told “thank you,” especially for something specific we have done or for who we are to someone. It’s amazing what someone saying “thank you” does to increase our energy and our desire to keep serving and helping.

I do not believe it is possible to say “thank you” to someone too many times. Overall, I think as a congregation we do intentionally say “thank you” to the many people who serve here. And it is still something we can all continue to intentionally take moments to thank others, in person, with a card, or a text, or an email. It is an important gift we give to each other. Who knows who God may be nudging you to encourage with a thank you this week?

Thanks to each of you for giving me the blessing of being your pastor. God has done some pretty amazing things in all of us and I believe there are more exciting things to come.

Blessings, Peace and Thanks,
Pastor Donna
