Dear Friends of Longview Chapel,
Do you remember a time when you were certain something was impossible and God helped to make it possible?
Do you remember when the Berlin wall came down in 1989? How many prayers do you imagine were said over this wall before it finally fell? How many people fought the injustice of this barrier? How many people gave their lives while trying to get through it when it was illegal to do so? Sometimes making the impossible possible seems to take an incredibly long time in human years. And yet…
Or do you remember when you thought you did not have enough time or money or energy to do something you knew you were called to do, but amazingly pieces came together and what felt impossible became possible?
Truly believing that God can do all things that God desires can help us to keep moving in times of stress. It can help us to think beyond the reality that we think we logically see. It can even help us to be creative beyond what we might otherwise be.
I encourage you, if you have not already done so, to memorize this verse from Matthew 19:26.
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 NRSVUE
These are words worthy of our remembering and practicing as we seek to be faithful followers of Jesus.
May we continue to live in and share God’s Good News.
Celebrating the Good News with You,
Pastor Donna
