Our Curriculum
I hear, and I forget.
I see, and I remember.
I do, and I understand.

While we incorporate monthly themes, letters, numbers, and colors into our lesson plans, our teachers use a window of learning opportunity approach in their classrooms. As the brain develops in early childhood children display an intense interest during the period of time in which their brain is ready to acquire a new skill. When a child develops a spark learning a new skill, we run with it! Here at the Chapel, we recognize that not all children hit each developmental milestone at the exact same time, and that is okay! We stride to meet each child where they are developmentally and tap into their interests to help them succeed and achieve their goals!

At Longview Chapel Preschool our students have the opportunity to participate in three exciting classes, Music and Movement, Gymnastics, and Chapel.
Music and movement– is taught by one of our administrators Ms. Kim, and is designed to strengthen motor skills, improve memory, build self-confidence, and target emotional development. Ms. Kim teaches the students fun songs that promote a love for music and a fun way to get their extra wiggles out! During the year the children also work on songs for the Christmas program and Graduation. When asked Ms. Kim said one of her favorite things about teaching music is watching the children develop self-confidence on the stage!
Gymnastics is taught by one of our classroom teachers, Ms. Michelle, who previously taught gymnastics to preschoolers at a local gym. Ms. Michelle enjoys staying active and uses her passion to help our preschool students develop motor skills, learn to take turns, and build self-esteem in a structured environment. During weekly gymnastics classes the children are introduced to a low bar, trampoline, floor balance beam, and various other obstacles that target core muscles, improve balance, cross the midline, and increase flexibility.
Chapel- In addition to our weekly classes, once a month our children engage in Chapel time. During Chapel the children enjoy a bible lesson and activity, taught by Ms. Jessy, the Family Minister of Longview Chapel Christian Church. Ms. Jessy has an amazing way of connecting with our preschoolers that makes learning about the bible so much fun! Whether she’s dressed like a turkey for Thanksgiving, wearing a Koala to talk about Noah’s ark, or bringing in various sensory items to help her story stick. Ms. Jessy has all the children excited for Chapel time!
Learning and growing are always taking place here at the Chapel whether it be socially, intellectually, physically, or spiritually!
