Pastor Donna Rose-Heim

She was called to serve with Longview Chapel in 2018. Her greatest desire is to help congregations develop their resources and talents to pursue their mission with faithfulness, excellence and joy. In preaching and teaching she uses stories, interactive experiences and humor as she helps people to engage the scriptures with their daily lives.

Donna holds a B.A. in Psychology from Anderson College and a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology.  She has additional training in mediation, healthy boundaries, transition management, community development, emergency response and volunteerism. 

Her books, Dream Walking and Dream Walking for Kids are both guides to help people of all ages open their hearts and minds to do more with God than any of us at first dared to dream or imagine.

Donna is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and married to Bill Rose-Heim.  They have five grown children and seven grandchildren. Donna has served in congregations and congregational support offices in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. She and her husband live in Overland Park, KS and enjoy hiking, dancing and biking together.

Music Director – Beth Fleer

Beth Fleer has been the Music Leader and Choir Director at Longview Chapel since 2001. She received her music teaching degree from Missouri State in Springfield and her Masters degree from Webster University. Beth has directed choirs of all ages and accompanied many church services, concerts and weddings. In her spare time, Beth enjoys activities with the church Singles, traveling, and taking care of her chocolate brown Cocker Spaniel, Poppy. Beth has a son Patrick, who lives in St. Louis. Her family also includes a sister, Barbara, and a twin brother, Bob. 

Office Manager – Kim Stover

Kim Stover is the new Office Manager at Longview Chapel Christian Church.

She has 15 years of experience within office administration varying from customer support, medical offices, senior living centers, human resources and accounts payable. She has a gift of administration, is detailed orientated, tech savvy and, has a passion for people. She attended collage at Oklahoma State University-OKC for pre-nursing. Her plans are to return to college this year to further her education by switching her major to ministry.

Kim recently relocated from Oklahoma in February 2022 and lives in Prairie Village, Kansas with her husband, John, their son and daughter. She enjoys photography, music and going hiking with her family.

Preschool Director – Sara Conley

Sara Conley is the Director of Longview Chapel Preschool. She strongly believes in the importance of early, hands-on learning opportunities. As the director, she leads a team of excellent teachers to create a safe, caring learning environment where children can grow physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually and have a positive first educational experience that will inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Sara has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Prior to coming to Longview Chapel, Sara worked in the marketing field for four years, spent eight years at home with her children, and volunteered in local leadership with Mothers of Preschoolers for three years. She lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with her husband, Brad, and two daughters, both of whom attended Longview Chapel Preschool. In addition to being an avid baseball fan, she also enjoys reading and baking in her spare time.

Children’s Director – Janet Loos

Janet is a Kansas City girl, having moved to Overland Park when she was 6. She still lives in Overland Park, with her husband Larry and their three children Mark (15), Sophia (8) and Emma (5). She has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University, and taught first grade, second grade and was in administration, before accepting her calling to Ministry. She served in Family Ministry for the past 9 years.

When she is not running her children everywhere, she enjoy’s sewing, gardening, and baking (NOT cooking). 

She will be in the office on Tuesday mornings and is available by email anytime at childrenministry@longviewchapelcc.org.

Nursery Attendant – Caroline Jackson

Caroline can’t wait to have fun with the little ones! She graduated from UMKC in 2020 with a degree in theater.

She loves plants, fish, and fostering cats and kittens. She also loves the outdoors and going on fun trips.

We are currently seeking a Part Time Youth Ministry Director – Longview Chapel Christian Church, Lee’s Summit, MO

Purpose:  To grow young disciples for Christ by continuing and building upon Longview Chapel’s Youth  Ministry program while serving as a spiritual leader and role model for youth and families.  Our goals are to empower young people to know and pursue a relationship with Jesus, and to engage them with tools to grow and mature in their faith and understanding of God.

Longview Chapel Christian Church seeks a person of the Christian faith to be our Youth Ministry Director. This person will work for 10 to 12 hours per week to help provide the following:

  • Pursue various avenues in the community to reach youth and their families and engage them with church activities and faith development
  • Maintain a multifaceted social media presence as part of community outreach
  • Communicate with staff all event dates and details
  • Write a monthly youth update for the newsletter
  • The person will arrive by 8:45 a.m. and teach Sunday School for grades 6-12 on Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m. and provide optional lesson for youth at the 10:30 service
  • Lead 2nd and 4th Thursday night social and learning events.
  • Follow up and support of families
    • Contacting visitors by email or phone
    • Staying aware of families who are missing and connecting with them
    • Relaying to pastor and Children’s Ministry Director pastoral needs in families
    • Attending school or other events for youth, one per youth per year at a minimum.
    • Making hospital visits to youth as appropriate.
  • Be an active part of the Family Life Ministry Team
  • Assist in curriculum selection
  • Leadership and recruitment for events, including, but not limited to Sunday School, summer mission trip, lock-ins and celebrations
  • Attend Board meeting semiannually and send a brief written report quarterly

The qualified candidate will be:

  • A person with a personal Christian spiritual walk
  • Have some experience with children and volunteers
  • Be creative, fun, enthusiastic, organized and conscientious
  • Have strong references
  • Pass a background check
  • Be able to be flexible with hours and adjust as needed.

Compensation is $1000 per month and 2 weeks paid vacation. Mileage to events of students’ events or to parishioners’ homes will be paid at the IRS rate. Business expenses of $20 per month or $240 per year will be reimbursed with receipts.

The Youth Ministry Director will report to the Senior Pastor.
