Longview Chapel Staff

Pastor Donna Rose-Heim

She was called to serve with Longview Chapel in 2018. Her greatest desire is to help congregations develop their resources and talents to pursue their mission with faithfulness, excellence and joy. In preaching and teaching she uses stories, interactive experiences and humor as she helps people to engage the scriptures with their daily lives.

Donna holds a B.A. in Psychology from Anderson College and a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology.  She has additional training in mediation, healthy boundaries, transition management, community development, emergency response and volunteerism.

Her books, Dream Walking and Dream Walking for Kids are both guides to help people of all ages open their hearts and minds to do more with God than any of us at first dared to dream or imagine.

Donna is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and married to Bill Rose-Heim.  They have five grown children and seven grandchildren. Donna has served in congregations and congregational support offices in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. She and her husband live in Overland Park, KS and enjoy hiking, dancing, and biking together.

Office Manager – Deanna Hamilton

Deanna previously attended and worked right next door at Longview College. On weekends, she spends her time working at the beautiful Woodstock Inn in Independence. She has a black cat named Harper, who in her humble opinion is the cutest cat in the world. Deanna enjoys reading, grooving to music, and being active outside.

Deanna can be reached at office@longviewchapelcc.org.

Interim Music Director – Sandy Playter

Sandy is a retired school counselor whose BA in music education and psychology is from Southwest Baptist University, MS in counseling psychology from Avila University, and Ed.S. in guidance and counseling from UMKC. She has been both an accompanist and music director, sometimes at the same time, for many years. Her mother secured piano lessons for her beginning at age 6 because she couldn’t carry a tune, and her mother thought all little girls should be able to sing.

Sandy enjoys being around people. She has four sons, 10 grandchildren, and has hosted 12 foreign exchange students over the past 10 years, with another coming in August. She accompanies chorus classes in Independence middle schools parttime during the school year.

She loves being an active participant in worship. She moved to Lee’s Summit from Raytown (where she had spent her entire life) 3 years ago during the pandemic to be near her family. She feels God must have been looking ahead to the time Longview Chapel would be needing an accompanist at a time she was looking for a place to serve.  She is grateful for the opportunity.

Preschool Director – Sara Conley

Sara Conley is the Director of Longview Chapel Preschool. She strongly believes in the importance of early, hands-on learning opportunities. Sara has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Prior to coming to Longview Chapel, Sara worked in the marketing field for four years, spent eight years at home with her children, and volunteered in local leadership with Mothers of Preschoolers for three years. She lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with her husband, Brad, and two daughters, both of whom attended Longview Chapel Preschool. In addition to being an avid baseball fan, she also enjoys reading and baking in her spare time.
