Pastor Donna Rose-Heim

 

 

 

Pastor Donna Rose-Heim was called to serve with Longview Chapel in 2018. Her greatest desire is to help congregations develop their resources and talents to pursue their mission with faithfulness, excellence and joy. In preaching and teaching she uses stories, interactive experiences and humor as she helps people to engage the scriptures with their daily lives.

 

Donna holds a B.A. in Psychology from Anderson College and a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology.  She has additional training in mediation, healthy boundaries, transition management, community development, emergency response and volunteerism. 

 

Her books, Dream Walking and Dream Walking for Kids are both guides to help people of all ages open their hearts and minds to do more with God than any of us at first dared to dream or imagine.

 

Donna is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and married to Bill Rose-Heim.  They have five grown children and six grandchildren. Donna has served in congregations and congregational support offices in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. She and her husband live in Overland Park, KS and enjoy hiking, dancing and biking together.

Music Director - Beth Fleer

 

Beth Fleer has been the Music Leader and Choir Director at Longview Chapel since 2001. She received her music teaching degree from Missouri State in Springfield and her Masters degree from Webster University. Beth has directed choirs of all ages and accompanied many church services, concerts and weddings. In her spare time, Beth enjoys activities with the church Singles, traveling, and taking care of her chocolate brown Cocker Spaniel, Poppy. Beth has a son Patrick, who lives in St. Louis. Her family also includes a sister, Barbara, and a twin brother, Bob. 

Administrative Assistant - SHELLEY HUMPHREY

I grew up in Higginsville, MO, the youngest of 5 girls. I graduated from Higginsville High School in 1973. I worked at CitizensTelephone Company for 10 years before moving to Kansas City in 1983.Over my career, I've worked in various fields, from Public Accounting to Pharmaceuticals to Manufacturing. I have two  children. My son is 33 and my daughter is 27. They are both employed in the IT field. When I got laid off from my job in May of 2018, I decided to apply for my Social Security benefits and just work part time. I got my property/casualty insurance license and worked in insurance for a year. I decided that was not for me and began working at the First Christian Church in Odessa, MO for Pastor Russell Alexander.  That is how I met Pastor Donna, which brought me to Longview Chapel. I'm so excited to be here!

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR - SARA CONLEY

 

Sara Conley is the Director of Longview Chapel Preschool. She strongly believes in the importance of early, hands-on learning opportunities. As the director, she leads a team of excellent teachers to create a safe, caring learning environment where children can grow physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually and have a positive first educational experience that will inspire a lifelong love of learning.

 

Sara has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Prior to coming to Longview Chapel, Sara worked in the marketing field for four years, spent eight years at home with her children, and volunteered in local leadership with Mothers of Preschoolers for three years. She lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with her husband, Brad, and two daughters, both of whom attended Longview Chapel Preschool. In addition to being an avid baseball fan, she also enjoys reading and baking in her spare time.

YOUTH MINISTRY DIRECTOR - SHELBY SEYMOUR

Longview Chapel welcomes Shelby Seymour to work with our youth from grades 6—12, as Youth Director. Shelby’s main goal is to serve our teens by encouraging growth through the love of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She hopes to create a foundation in Christ through weekly Bible studies, and bonding through fun events and group discussion. Shelby has enjoyed serving the community alongside our youth through mission trips and hopes to carry on that spirit of service and bring it to our local community.

Shelby started working at Longview Chapel in 2011 in the nursery. She then began teaching at our Preschool in the Chapel’s PDO Program. Shelby also currently works as a reading tutor specializing in ADHD and Dyslexia. She homeschools her two daughters and lives with her husband, Chris and border collie, Cisco. She enjoys learning about education, knitting, reading and gardening.

Good Morning -

As a teacher involved either in your school's theatre or broadcast programs, I'm writing to let you know of an A/V Internship opportunity (unpaid) that has opened up at Longview Chapel here in Lee's Summit (by Longview Farms Elementary). The time commitment is 3-5 hours a week, currently Thursday evenings, and moving back to Sunday mornings in the future when we return to in-person Sundays. A/V experience required, worship experience is not required.

This is a supervised position, giving students additional time with A/V equipment as we record our weekly on-line service. Successful interns will be able to add this experience to resumes and can use Longview Chapel as a reference for future work.

My hope is that you have an ability to share this information with your classes and extra-curricular groups.  And if there are students you think are well suited for this opportunity, I'm sure they would appreciate your recommendation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose: Provide an internship opportunity to a local youth that bridges the technical skills needs of our updated A/V system and provides relief to our A/V volunteers. At the same time it may present a Christian outreach opportunity. Title: A/V Engineering Internship - Longview Chapel Christian Church The purpose of this internship is to provide hands-on A/V experience to further develop your skills in the field of A/V engineering. This is a part-time, 3 - 5 hours a week non-paid internship. You will work directly with the Ministry A/V coordinator. Intern Responsibilities ● Set-up for recording weekly on-line worship. ● Record A/V using ATEM software and Beringer Sound Mix console ● Make best use of 2-camera system during approximately 50 minute on-line worship recording. ● Incorporate provided PowerPoint slides into live recording ● Turn off and close down equipment at the end of each session. ● Upload to website by midnight Saturday for availability on Sunday Skills and Experience ● A/V recording general knowledge - required ● Audio Engineering: 1 or 2 school productions or similar experience (Preferred) ● Video Engineering: 1 or 2 school productions or similar experience (Preferred) ● Experience with ATEM software and Beringer Sound Mix console equipment (Preferred) ● Familiarity with Worship Service routine is not needed Work hours: ● During Covid - Thursdays 4:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. ○ Some recordings take place on Tuesday based on Christian holidays.
