Our Interim Minister - Dr. George Flanagan

 

Dr. George Flanagan is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), currently serving as Interim Pastor at Longview Chapel Christian Church. Previously, he was the Transitional Senior Minister of Red Bridge Christian Church. He served for 20 years as Chaplain and Education Coordinator at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. He has been on the staff and is a Fellow of the Center for Practical Bioethics and is adjunct faculty for healthcare ethics at Rockhurst University. Before entering full-time ministry, he taught English, Speech and Debate at Lee’s Summit High School and William Jewell College. He is a graduate of William Jewell College, the University of Central Missouri, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Lyndia, have two adult children and two grandchildren. 

Our Music Director - Beth Fleer

 

Beth Fleer has been the Music Leader and Choir Director at Longview Chapel since 2001. She received her music teaching degree from Missouri State in Springfield and her Masters degree from Webster University. Beth has directed choirs of all ages and accompanied many church services, concerts and weddings. In her spare time, Beth enjoys activities with the church Singles, traveling, and taking care of her tri-colored Cocker Spaniel, Meggi. Beth has a son Patrick, who is married and lives in St. Louis with his wife Katie. Her family also includes a sister, Barbara, and a twin brother, Bob

Our Administrative Assistant - Mandy Ott

Mandy Ott is the newest addition to our Church, serving as our secretary! She received her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. She is newly married to her husband, Jacob, whom she knew from high school. He recently spent four years in the United States Marine Corps and now they are looking to put down roots in Missouri. In her spare time, Mandy enjoys being with her family, as well as traveling, studying the Bible, and being involved in her Church. Mandy was raised by a single mother, Tammy, and has a twin sister, Missy! Her favorite Bible verse is 1 John 4:16 “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
