Good Morning; January 7, 2010
As we deal with the worst winter in at least 30 years I am amazed by all the complaining, especially about side streets not being cleared. I feel sorry for our elected officials who have to deal with all the hostility. I heard an interesting story on the way to the office this morning about “scrapper rage”. The story was told of two cars, on a two lane, road stopped at a light. One car was covered with snow, including the windows. The driver had only cleared a tiny hole from which to see. The other car’s windows were clean. The gentleman with the clean windows got out of his vehicle and headed for the other car with scrapper in hand and without saying a word quickly scrapped the man’s windows and returned to his car by the time the light turned green. A man in a vehicle behind reported the incident. I am sure there were lots of people who saw the driver with the snow covered windows and exclaimed, “What an idiot!” How many would have done what this man did? How many people who complain are willing to help solve a problem rather than just rant about it? My hat is off to the man with the scrapper. I think our Lord would have done the same adding the command, “Go and do likewise.”
When the going gets tough, those with caring hearts stand out.
Pastor Gary
